werewolf-cuddles:

You know what, since I can pin posts now, I’m going to write up a pinned post right now just to make something very clear.

If I criticize somebody’s post, or get into an argument with them, that is NOT an invitation to go to their blog and start harassing them.

If you think it’s acceptable to start harassing somebody on my behalf, for the sole reason that they disagreed with me on any given topic, go fuck yourself.

If this is the mentality you have, unfollow me right now. I don’t want you anywhere near my blog, you sadistic little cunts.

This post was written and pinned on July 6th 2020. Just putting that information here for people who don’t have the Timestamps extension for whatever reason. (You should install that extension by the way. It is VERY useful.)

> I mean there was the >spike in homicides< committed with guns after the handgun ban.

> The UK has excluded from its homicide counts< any case that does not result in a conviction,

Gee, I wonder why secretswiftymarvelfan blocked everyone who responded to her nonsense and then replied to someone she  blocked.

Also, two little UK girls died when a random lady drove a car through a tea party. Recently, as of the time SSMF made this post.

OP has no actual evidence that gun control is why the killer used a knife. SSMF is just assuming that is the case.

She just wanted head pats and confirmation. When that didn’t happen it was time to run.

“Because this is a place to escape the hells of the real world” tells me everything I need to know.

They have an agenda, they are looking for an “escape” of real world realities. You demonstrating that what they’re saying is crazy (no matter what they are saying) brings them back down, which is why they block you.

I don’t even bother responding to people like that anymore. It could be a radfem advocating for murder or a alt-righter demanding racial segregated bathrooms, doesn’t matter. If they are stuck in their BS they will just block and act like what you said doesn’t exist.

If their response to criticism, even polite criticism, is to block? Then they are a waste of time. They’ve got an agenda to push and don’t want inconvenient facts getting in the way.

> If their response to criticism, even polite criticism, is to block? Then they are a waste of time.

This is akin all those hot takes about the 2k bug being an hoax:

“Remember when they told us every computer was going to crash on 1/1/01 and there would be chaos and then nothing happened?”

Yeah, I remember. And I’m sure every programmer and sysadmin that contributed the billion person/hour global effort to prevent it also remembers.

No one talks about acid rain anymore, either. And that’s a very good thing.

see also START and START II, which significantly reduced nuclear stockpiles

International cooperation is actually so effective that most people don’t even notice it happening, and then erroneously believe it can’t solve anything.

Fixing issues before they develop into actual disasters is such an underappreciated thing it hurts at all levels.

We don’t talk about acid rain because there isn’t any more acid rain because when acid rain started happening and we learned that the cause was mainly sulphur oxide and carbon monooxide from car exhausts, countries all over the world made it a law that car companies had to produce cars that produced less exhaust with better effectivenes (burning the fuel all the way to CO2 instead of the halfassed CO) and oil rafineries to remove the sulphur from the gasoline in the first place.

We don’t talk about computers crashing because of the turn of the century, because thousands of programmers worked very hard to write updates and patches for Every Single Program humanity as a whole used back in 1999 and then somehow managed to failtest, distribute, and update every single device and system, be it an online or offline one before the midnight of the 1st january of 2000.

On a much smaller scale, no one ever commenta or notices cleaners and housekeepers doing their job - be it at home or at whole buildings - because they always make sure that there’s nothing to notice. But don’t be fooled - at any point of your life you are one week of them not doing away from swimming in trash and filth with nothing to eat and nothing clean to wear. Only then you would notice.

Now it’s time to do that thing again and make sure that we don’t kill our whole planetary ecosystem within the next century.

image

If you ever think america is a clean country, go without garbage men for a week.

Wait, acid rain was a real thing???

And not just, a thing for games, movies to add some bonus drama effect??

It wasn’t like, ‘melt the flesh from your bones’ acid, but it was definitely 'erode away solid stone edifices which had stood for centuries’ acid, just falling from the sky. With all the ecological damage you’d expect from that.

ANTI-CAPITALIST AFFIRMATIONS

  • i am allowed to spend my time creating things, even if they are not beautiful.
  • there is no such thing as a “real job.” all forms of work are real and valid.
  • there is nothing that i need to accomplish to be worthy. i am already worthy.
  • doing nothing is good for my soul.
  • i am not defined by what i produce.
  • my worth cannot be measured by my paycheck, my job title, or a list of professional or academic achievements.
  • i do not need to monetize my hobbies, it is enough to spend time doing something i love.
  • i will not let society decide what success looks like. i can define what successful life looks like for me.

How is this “anti-capitalist”?

And when does the state control of the economy come in?

Your typical anti-capitalist is a pro-capitalist that fell for the intellectual equivalent of a cartoon villain flipping a road sign.

I love the fact that Western commies, who are constantly accusing everyone who (fucking rightfully) speaks against the whole and just …obvious lunacy of their desired socio economic system of Not Knowing What Communism Really™®© Is, prove every single time they open their mouths or put fingers to keyboards that they’re the ones that truly don’t understand it. Useful idiots indeed.

internet censorship bill about to pass congress:

ao3 is facing a ddos attack from an overseas right-wing anonymous group because it contains “degeneracy and disgusting things like LGBT and NSFW”.

they’re not the only right-wing group that is attacking fanfiction sites because of queer & nsfw content. the Heritage foundation, the US right wing think tank that writes laws for republicans, wrote an article about how “big tech turns kids trans” in which they’re advocating for the Kid’s Online Safety Act to pass because it will give state attorney generals power to sue websites for “potentially harmful content towards minors”. in this article they point out websites like wattpad, tumblr, tiktok, twitter as sites that GOP attorney generals can and will target for censorship if this bill passes. all places where fandom, that’s mostly queer, hangs out.

if you think this bill has no chance of passing because of all the red flags it poses, think again. it currently has 38 cosponsors in the senate, and is being pushed by the democrats as a “protecting the children!!” type bill.

there are left-aligned orgs in congress rn lobbying for this bill to pass. july is extremely decisive, because if KOSA goes through to markup it’ll be bundled with the Earn It act, Restrict, and all the other bad internet bills and passed as a package, completely censoring the internet forever.

if you want to learn more about the bill, go here. also sign the open letter against it here

it’s ESSENTIAL that you call your members of congress, specifically Maria Cantwell (you can call from out of state) and tell them DO NOT PASS KOSA. this site here connects you to your members of congress and gives you a short simple script to read off of! super easy and doesn’t take much out of your day! please do this now!!

I hate commies, but I hate losing my fluffy Zadr even more!

You know what? Destroy the “people in rural areas are all ignorant conservatives” stereotype and start mocking the “trad”/anti-feminist/neonazi people that are obsessed with rural areas despite having never been to one

I’m absolutely laughing my ass off at all these “Traditional Femininity” blogs that post nothing but aesthetic photos of supposed “Rural Life”

Lady this is a skinny influencer in a frilly white dress that’s never had dirt on it, with her hair in professionally-done beachy waves, doing a photoshoot in a field using a basket of strawberries bought at walmart as a prop.

If you saw an actual woman farmer you would think you were seeing the Masculinization Of Women By The Degenerate Left

Can confirm, went to school with farm folk. The wrestling team was afraid of the 4H and Future Farmers of America girls.

I live in a no-stoplight-no-starbucks-no-fast-food town in the backwoods of Virginia, and I have seen a toothless redneck at the gas station go off on someone for being a dick about a trans woman, telling him that if he didn’t want to show some basic manners, he should move up north.

good time to remember that the Southern U.S. population is significantly more progressive and ethnically diverse than you’ve been taught to believe.

southern states are gerrymandered to hell–specifically to prevent the majority from overthrowing the conservative political chokehold. this is by design and a direct inheritance of the civil war (to keep former slaves and their descendants as politically disenfranchised as possible). Southern politics do not reflect southern reality. And neither do media portrayals. there is a reason the media wants you to think of the south as white, conservative, poor, and uneducated: to keep southern progressives isolated. to alienate northern liberals from disenfranchised southerners (especially southerners of color).

it’s just another divide-and-conquer strategy. because that’s what conservatives are good at–controlling the narrative in order to rewrite history and sow discord between groups that should be helping each other. Because unity is powerful, and it makes us dangerous.

tl;dr the south has always been more liberal than you think, it’s the decades of voter suppression & systematic disenfranchisement controlling the narrative. (and yes this extends to gender and queer issues too)

I also want to point out that on the flip side of the coin- western/northeastern liberal blue states are NOT the bastions of progressivism people seem to think they are. There are plenty of homo/transphobic and racist assholes in them. For example- I grew up in Oregon, a solid blue state. It is also one of the most racist and racially divided states in the nation (read the history, it is absolutely fucked) and yet people think “oh its a blue state people there must be good!” when it couldnt be further from the truth. Eastern Oregon is full of far right radicals and klan members, its literally unsafe to be out in backwoods oregon as a poc or openly lgbt person. And the so-called progressives that live in the willamette valley? They are some of the most backhandly racist, sexist and homo/transphobic assholes I have ever met in my entire life. Some of the things they say would make their ultra conservative cousins in eastern oregon blush. But yet, it’s a “blue” state- with probably worse bigotry problems than many places in the south and everyone seems to ignore it because of that.

I love stories like this. Because they are the same stories “cosplay commies” which is a term I think I like, will ignore from people whom have escaped communism and tell them these stories and WORSE. Because those people lived under jackboots. These commune hippies were not and they still had it kinda rough. Farm life is hard work and I know because I helped on a ranch during the summers between school years.

On a commune YOU WORK. And you work all the time. There is no real downtime. And believe me there is no just “Being vegan”. Since you have to make 98% of what you eat. Unless you eat meat and know how to kill, gut, skin, dismantle etc any animal you plan to eat. And Tofu doesn’t grow on trees. Also, your “art” serves zero purpose. IE: You don’t work you don’t eat. Because people will NOT work for you to mooch off of them. They will kick your ass to the curb.

Imagine being so terminally online that you get mad that Mexicans love depictions of their culture in media.

And I gotta love his argument of “Well, I studied your culture, so it’s my duty to tell you how you’re supposed to act!”

Wait. This seems…familiar.

image

I also love how he can’t actually defend his point of view, he just whines that actual Mexicans disagree with him.

Also, El Tigre is clearly not supposed to be a realistic depiction of Mexico any more than Mucha Lucha is a wrestling documentary.
